Rev. Norwag left the church early in 1956 due
to poor health.
In April 1956, a meeting was held to discuss hiring a another minister.
It was suggested that Rev. Howard Peirce, from Oregon, might be
interested. He accepted the position, and was pastor until April of 1958,
when he resigned to go to Washington.
Josephine Hutchings was elected as pastor in April of 1958. It was
during her tenure that the first water was piped to the church. Up until
this time it had not been possible. A pipeline was laid to a spot at the
extension of Sweetwater Lane, where Mr. King agreed to have the meter set
on his property. In December of 1958, restrooms and a nursery were
built in the front of the church. At a meeting in April 1959,
Mrs.Hutchings spoke in favor of entering a Pentecostal denomination.
However., the consensus was to leave the church a non-denominational
community church. It was at this meeting Mrs. Hutching gave her
resignation.
From April 26, 1959 thru July 19, 1959 there were guest speakers and
then on July 26, 1959, Rev. Bernard Olsen was received as pastor. In
September 1960, plans were made for remodeling and/or adding to the
present church, and also to try to acquire a 25 foot strip of land at the
rear of the church from Mrs. Amy, and a strip to the east for parking from
Emil Caldwell. None of these plans were accomplished. Sometime during this
period, a piano was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martens. At a meeting in
April 1961, there was a discussion about purchasing a duplex to be moved on to
the church property, but this plan was shelved. Rev. Olsen May 14, 1961.
There were guest speakers from May 21, 1961 to October 1, 1961.
Rev Walter Bush was accepted as pastor on October 8, 1961, a position
he held until July 7, 1963, when he left to become a missionary thru
Baptist Mid-Mission to Honduras.
Rev. J.W. Morrison served as interim pastor until September 1963. There
were guest speakers from September until December 1963.
